Join LSM and DFW Defensive Training for a unique course!

This exclusive one-day course introduces attendees to fundamental skills for impact devices and blunt-force injuries. Seasoned practitioners and those new to either skillsets are welcome to attend! The “Giving Them” portion of Bumps & Bruises will look at the use of small impact devices (saps and blackjacks) in a defensive situation. The “Treating Them” portion of the course will look at identifying and treating traumatic injuries related to blunt force during self-defense incidents. Attendees will learn through minimal lecture, and plenty of hands-on skills practice. This is an exclusive course held at the Dallas Pistol Club and not scheduled as a reoccurring class.

Topics covered in the Giving Them session:
- Legality
- Saps vs blackjacks; pros vs cons
- Strike zones and targeting
- Carry methods
- Ready positions
- Strikes
- Default Cover (defensive use)
- Long Cover (offensive use)
- Field expedient and improvised impact devices

Topics covered in the Treating Them session:
- Patient assessment techniques for blunt trauma
- Treatment techniques related to
head trauma
thoracic trauma
extremities (closed fractures)
abdominal trauma
- Medical gear selection and EDC methods of carry

Please bring $10 cash to be collected for facility fee.

No prerequisites. Must be 18 years of age to attend. No refunds.
